John Caris commenced his career in the printing industry in 1964 with the then Royal Smeets Offset, now Roto Smeets Weert. After occupying a number of positions he left the organization in 1986 to join Drukkerij Em. de Jong in Baarle-Nassau as Deputy Director. In 1990 he was appointed General Manager of the world's largest security printer, Thomas de la Rue in the United Kingdom.
He returned to Em. de Jong in 1993.
Since 1 January 2001 he has returned to our organization to take responsibility for the Roto Smeets brand name.
He joined the Management Board on 1 May 2002.
On June 19 2006 he became CEO of Roto Smeets Group NV.

B.J.W. van der Heijden
COO Management Board

Bernard van der Heijden worked in the 90's for Roto Smeets Group (when it was still called Roto Smeets De Boer) as director of NDI (Roto Smeets Deventer), NBI (Smeets offset Den Bosch) and Roto Smeets’ international marketing and sales organisation.
In 1999 he started to work for Koninklijke Wegener NV as director of Wegener Grafische Groep and as publisher of the newspapers Utrechts Nieuwsblad/Haagsche Courant. In recent years he has occupied the post of director/publisher at AD NieuwsMedia, taking the lead in a complex series of mergers in the newspaper business.
Bernard holds an engineering degree in business administration from the Technical University, Eindhoven, and is - as of 30 October 2009 - a Registered Marketer (Register Marketeer, RM). At the start of his career as an independent business consultant he carried through a number of reorganisation and change management projects for clients including DSM, VNU, Philips and Roto Smeets.
He is appointed as COO in the Management Board of Roto Smeets Group NV as of 1 November 2009.
