Joost de Haas new CEO of Roto Smeets Group

<Deventer, The Netherlands, 11 January 2012> The Supervisory Board of Roto Smeets Group NV has appointed J.A. (Joost) de Haas (b. 1959) as statutory director of Roto Smeets Group NV and ceo of Roto Smeets Group BV as of 30 January. De Haas has a proven track record in managing performance improvement, coupled with extensive, broad management experience in both operational and senior executive posts. The Central Works Council has already advised positively on the appointment.

Ronald Blom, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, stated: “We are glad that we have found Joost de Haas willing to take on the leadership of Roto Smeets Group. Joost is an experienced manager with good knowledge of the graphic industry, the network, the customers, the business model and the challenges offered by the current communications market. His pragmatism combined with his strategic and conceptual insight will be of great value in the further development of Group.”

De Haas said: “It is a wonderful challenge to be able to lead Roto Smeets Group, the market leader in the Netherlands and a major player in Europe. We shall have to steer close to the wind in the coming years if we are to keep up with market developments. Profitability has to be restored to allow us to follow our own course. In any case, we shall continue down the path of making the organization more flexible, productive and responsive.”

Following the appointment of Mr. De Haas, Mr. R.A.J. Huyzer will step down as interim ceo. Mr. Huyzer has decided not to return to his previous position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. While respecting Mr. Huyzer’s decision, the Supervisory Board regrets his resignation and thanks him for his contribution. The Supervisory Board will consider its future composition.
